a Moment for a fan

Lisa & I

I want to take a moment & give some kudos to a great fan of live music.  Lisa Spielmann is the kind of person you want in your audience.  She loves music.  She will spend some money at your gig.  And she can give you an honest critique of your sets.  She will tell you what's good, what might not be working and why. If you need help at a sound check, she can do that too.  Lisa donates her time and considerable artistic talents to raise money for various causes - including the occasional musician that need some help.  She deserves some recognition - and not just for her wonderful dogs.

Tacoma has a lot of talented drummers, and one of my favorites will be at Winestyles on Meridian Saturday night.  Frank Felix has an impressive music resume, including time in New Orleans and Las Vegas.  He's gathered some of his friends for this gig - including Butch Harrison and Michael Hershman.  If you're in Puyallup, drop in.

Allen Lynn will be at Dawson's in Tacoma Friday & Saturday.  Kanny, the owner, used to play ball with my brother Ken.  Just a bit of trivia for you. . .

Always happy to see new venues showcasing live music.  Vinces Restaurant, up in the Renton Highlands will have Paul Richardson accompanying Josephine Howell March 1st, and Paul Richardson with Keely Whitney the following week.

Sort of makes up for the places that are double booking bands & writing bad checks to bands . . .
